• Job Summary:
The Sales Manager – Sea Freight Forwarding is responsible for leading and driving the growth of the company’s sea freight business. This role involves developing strategic sales plans, managing a sales team, building key customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring achievement of revenue and profitability targets. The Sales Manager will work closely with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to deliver optimal logistics solutions and exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Business Development & Strategy
• Identify, develop, and implement strategies to expand the company’s sea freight forwarding business.
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new growth opportunities.
• Develop and execute business plans to achieve volume and revenue objectives.
• Sales Management
• Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team targets.
• Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation and client meetings to proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure.
• Set, monitor, and review sales performance metrics and KPIs to ensure targets are consistently met or exceeded.
• Client Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, shipping lines, and business partners.
• Negotiate long-term contracts and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
• Work closely with clients to understand their logistics needs and provide customized solutions.
• Collaboration & Coordination
• Coordinate with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure smooth execution of shipments and service delivery.
• Support cross-functional collaboration to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
• Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and performance reviews for senior management.
• Provide market intelligence, pricing insights, and competitor analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Continuous Improvement
• Identify process improvement opportunities within the sales function.
• Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings to promote brand visibility and business growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Any Bachelor’s degree acceptable
• Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in sea freight forwarding sales, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets in the logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, INCOTERMS, and freight pricing structures.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office applications.
