The Job Seeker Journey ? Job Discovery team aims to revolutionize Indeed's Homepage and Search, transforming it into an adaptive, AI-driven experience that connects job seekers with the most suitable job opportunities, while delivering exceptional value for employers.
As a Lead Front-End Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building essential software that fuels our shared platforms, services, and products to realize this vision. You will focus on frontend systems operating at scale and collaborate closely with engineers, product partners, and various stakeholders to create high-quality, reliable solutions.
In this role, you will take ownership of technical design decisions, engage in design and code reviews, and utilize data analytics to inform your contributions. You will work collaboratively across teams to foster broader initiatives and drive projects forward, all while enhancing your technical expertise and professional growth.
Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain functionalities that support essential business workflows.
• Contribute to system evolution while prototyping and delivering new capabilities.
• Engage in code reviews and design discussions to ensure quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data teams to deliver complete solutions.
• Identify performance enhancements and scalability improvements, modernizing existing code.
• Share expertise and provide constructive feedback to foster team knowledge.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively within the team.
Skills/Competencies
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields; or 3 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience.
• Demonstrated success in building and managing large-scale, resilient front-end software systems utilizing gRPC or GraphQL backend APIs.
• Proficiency in Java and modern front-end technologies, including React/React Native, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with large-scale or distributed systems.
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and core computer science concepts.
• Demonstrated accountability for work and a sense of ownership.
• Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a passion for solving complex problems.
Salary Range Transparency
Tier 1 - 118,000 - 178,000 USD per year
Tier 2 - 131,000 - 197,000 USD per year
Tier 3 - 145,000 - 217,000 USD per year
Tier 5 - 166,000 - 248,000 USD per year

The salary range reflects minimum to maximum compensation, with offers typically made between the minimum and midpoint. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, and evaluation during the hiring process.
