A leading organization within a highly regulated environment is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer / Infrastructure Lead to take ownership of a large-scale, mission-critical enterprise infrastructure. This role is suited to a hands-on technical leader with deep experience across on-prem, virtualized, and hybrid environments, who can confidently manage vendors, drive infrastructure governance, and lead complex transitions. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage enterprise infrastructure supporting multiple business-critical systems Take ownership of infrastructure operations, performance, availability, and resilience Manage transitions from outsourced vendors to in-house or hybrid operating models Oversee data centre, server, storage, network, and virtualization platforms Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory standards Lead incident response for major outages and 24/7 production environments Define infrastructure standards, policies, and governance frameworks Manage multi-vendor environments and challenge delivery quality Drive DR, BC, RPO/RTO planning and testing Mentor and guide senior and junior engineers Required Experience: 7+ years in enterprise infrastructure roles 4+ years in a senior or lead capacity Experience within government, finance, healthcare, or other regulated sectors Proven experience managing large-scale, high-availability environments Strong background in vendor management and infrastructure transitions Experience supporting high-volume transactional systems Technical Expertise: Linux & Windows Server (expert level) VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS; NSX preferred) Storage (SAN/NAS - EMC, NetApp, Dell, HPE) Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, load balancers) Backup & DR (Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, etc.) Monitoring & Logging (SolarWinds, Zabbix, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK) Security hardening, patching & vulnerability management Cloud, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code experience are highly advantageous.
