Position Summary About Team Join the Walmart Emerging-Tech group, where we're creating the future of retail and shopping experiences, both online and in-store. Our focus on Emerging Content, XR, Conversational AI, and Voice Assistants empowers us to build innovative capabilities for product discovery and interaction. We're also dedicated to crafting platform APIs and tools that allow other teams to take advantage of next-generation content. What you'll do: • Mentor and guide a talented team of engineers through code reviews and design discussions, ensuring adherence to best practices. • Serve as a technical authority, providing direction and expert advice. • Promote coding standards, design patterns, and development practices. • Oversee technical architecture to align it with business objectives and scalability needs. • Architect and develop complex software systems while ensuring performance, security, and scalability. • Deliver high-quality software, emphasizing unit and functional testing, along with continuous integration. • Maintain high operational standards and quality metrics. • Develop and maintain clear technical documentation and presentations for architectural decisions. • Align documentation with project scopes and deliverables. • Encourage technical standardization across the organization for enhanced engineering excellence. • Foster a culture of learning through mentorship and active technical guidance. • Lead discovery phases of major projects, aligning designs with business and technical requirements. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish project scopes and timelines. • Work closely with Product Management, UX/UI, Quality Assurance, and DevOps teams. • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Stay ahead of technological advancements by researching emerging tools and methodologies. What you'll bring: • A minimum of 12 years of software development experience, especially in building Frontend Websites and Shareable Widgets. • Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular, including experience with React Router and Redux. • Proficiency in API integration and development, particularly with Node.js and GQL. • Strong understanding of complex software design and distributed systems. • Exceptional debugging and production support skills. • Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform. • Experience in developing software products for a large user base. • Excellent decision-making abilities in a complex and fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of risk analysis methodologies, including cost and business objectives. • Understanding of coding standards, frameworks, quality and security standards, and CI/CD processes.
